Long ago. I told a story of the various organizations that offered Johrei and I tried to keep a chronological order. Now, that story is out of date because there are even more divisions of the organizations that offer a simple practice of raising the hand to perform miracle healing.
So, for my own benefit, I will try to keep them listed because I like the practice and want to have a handy guidebook to all of them. These organizations are not listed in order of importance… just order of how they popped out of my head.
Shumei
the head trainer formed this organization upon the death of Mokichi Okada while the wife of Mokichi continued to run the main org.
Miroku Association
This was a split off Izunome. It occurred maybe 2-4 years prior to Covid
Izunome
Izunome continued to support the bloodline of Mokichi Okada. The majority of the people left for Miroku association. But then Izunome dissolved itself to remove itself from affiliation with teachings based around removing clouds. They believe they are woking alongside christianity.
They are now called WORLD CHURCH OF MESSIAH USA.
You can see there are exactly 3 locations and the 3 people running them are
- Higor – NJ
- Paulo Santos – West Coast
- Felipe – Florida
Johrei Fellowship
The Johrei fellowship is the original US organization. As I said in my previous article, I encountered them in the 90s. Then Izunome split off from them.
Sukyo Mahikari
Sukyo Mahikari was formed when a person was thrown out of Mokichi Okada’s organization.
I ran across these people in Irvine, CA. A lady with a wrist broken in multiple places and scars on her face from domestic abuse cured it all without anyone touching her. All she did was hoshi (service) and receiving divine line.
They used to have a center in San Fran but now are only in Irvine?

Let’s go ahead and try for some chronology (even though time does not exist)
- The original Japanese organization and Johrei fellowship in USA
- Sukyo Mahikari formed while Mokichi Okada was alive
- Shumei formed upon the death of Mokichi Okada
- Izunome formed in a split from Johrei Fellowship
- Miroku Association formed in a split from Izunome. Note: they have control of all the original sacred grounds.. evidently in the power play the bloodline lost out to a majority of people who had issues with him.
- Izunome dissolved itself and calls itself WORLD CHURCH OF MESSIAH USA.
- World Divine Light split from Sukyo Mahikari at some point.
