2 people I knew died this past week. A 3rd is going to hospice.

I’ve flirted with Buddhism for a long time. Tried a bit of Zen. Tibetan was a lot of fun, with the gongs and mandalas, etc. But the amount of people dropping like flies around me is a wakeup call I need to heed. Now, I’m connected with a Tibetan online sangha where every night (and morning) they say: “cause and effect cannot be escaped. Death is real. comes without warning. This body will be a corpse.”

I dont know of any other spiritual system which warns about Birth, Old Age, Sickness and Death the way Buddhism does. One of my friends who died this week had some interest in physical immortality. She also had an interest in Pleadians and other galactic entities. There are so many shiny objects out there in the spiritual smorgasbord… I’ll see plenty of them at the Holistic Healing Expo and New Life Expo next year.

If I have time for online gaming, surfing TikTok, etc, then I can put in 10-15 minutes of Buddhist practice… after all, how much is all of that going to benefit you later?!
